Your journal stays local

Journal files, entry text, tags, locations and attachments are parsed in your browser. They are not uploaded to a JournalFold content database.

Aggregate product measurement

We may count a short allowlist of actions: page view, sample opened, archive loaded, search used, output downloaded and client error. Measurement uses a random per-tab session identifier and excludes filenames, journal text, tags, locations, dates, search queries, attachment data and account identity.

Infrastructure logs

The hosting provider may process standard security and delivery logs, including IP-derived network information, under its own retention practices.

Safety

Keep the original export. Review integrity warnings before deleting or migrating any journal data.
